Job summary

Thinking Search in Birmingham is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Employment team. The role offers hybrid working and exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for diverse clients, with high-caliber training and strong career progression.

You will advise on disputes, handle tribunal work, assist with restructurings and TUPE, and support cross-border matters alongside leading specialists in a market-leading practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with experience in respondent employment law.
• Experience in a leading law firm or comparable in-house environment.
• Strong Employment Tribunal experience and technical employment law knowledge.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and case management skills.
• Commercially minded with strong client relationship skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative approach with an interest in business development and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on respondent employment matters, including workplace disputes and HR issues.
• Manage Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings and witness evidence.
• Advise on restructurings, redundancies, TUPE transfers and senior exits.
• Support corporate transactions on employment-related issues.
• Draft commercially focused advice and build trusted client relationships.
• Deliver client training, webinars and knowledge updates.
• Support business development initiatives and thought leadership.
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the team’s development.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a leading international law firm with a highly regarded Employment practice. The firm are recruiting at either Associate or Senior Associate level.

Advising a diverse client base ranging from multinational organisations to fast-growing businesses, you will work on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters alongside recognised specialists in the field.

This role offers exposure to complex workplace disputes, strategic advisory work and cross-border matters, providing an excellent platform for career development within a collaborative and market-leading team.

Role

• Advise clients on a broad range of respondent employment law matters, including workplace disputes, investigations and strategic HR issues
• Manage Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing witness evidence and supporting advocacy
• Advise on restructurings, redundancies, TUPE transfers, disciplinary and grievance matters and senior exits
• Support corporate transactions on employment-related issues
• Draft commercially focused advice and build trusted client relationships
• Deliver client training, webinars and knowledge updates
• Support business development initiatives, thought leadership and networking activities
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the continued development of the team

Candidate Requirements
