Job summary

Fedcap Employment is seeking a Job Broker - Employer Engagement in the Telford/Shrewsbury area to connect young people with local employers. You’ll build relationships, identify opportunities and support participants to match to roles across Shropshire, including outreach to Market Drayton, Whitchurch and surrounding towns.

The role involves regular travel, a full-time schedule, and a mission-led environment focused on improving economic mobility for young people through employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with local employers across a range of sectors.
• Generating quality vacancies, work placements, apprenticeships and other employment opportunities.
• Getting to know employers and understand their recruitment needs, workplace culture and progression opportunities.
• Developing a pipeline of vacancies and actively match participants to suitable opportunities.
• Using creative approaches such as reverse marketing to open up opportunities that may not otherwise exist.
• Supporting participants throughout the recruitment journey, from identifying suitable roles through to interviews, job starts and beyond.
• Working with employers and participants to agree effective onboarding arrangements, workplace support and reasonable adjustments where required.
• Carrying out strengths-based vocational profiling to understand each participant's skills, aspirations, experience and barriers.
• Providing practical support with job searching, applications, CVs and interview preparation.
• Connecting participants with specialist services and community organisations where additional support is needed.
• Providing in-work support to help people settle into their roles, overcome challenges and sustain employment.
