Job summary

Dorset Police is seeking an Assistant Employee Relations Officer to support its Employee Relations Team within HR Operations. The role focuses on providing guidance to managers on ER policies, delivering advice via multiple channels, and maintaining ER documentation in a busy public sector environment.

The position is temporary and part-time (15.5 hours per week) with a competitive hourly rate of £14.10, offering hybrid working options in Exeter, Devon.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to line managers on employee relations policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
• Deliver ER advice via telephone, direct assistance, and written documentation.
• Maintain an ER project plan and report deviations to management.
• Prepare timely, well-structured reports for stakeholders including the Joint Partnership Group.
• Research and assist in project delivery for the Senior ER Officer.
• Coordinate with internal departments to update policies and procedures.
• Assist in creating and updating ER procedures and maintain ER records.
• Provide general administrative support, including meetings and record management.
