Job Description:

We have a new opportunity to be part of our HR Operations team in the role of Employee Relations (ER) Specialist on a fixed term until the end of December 2025.

As an ER Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and managing a variety of employee relations cases across the business, ensuring that all matters are dealt with in a legally sound, ethical, and commercially appropriate manner. You will provide specialist coaching and support to managers and HR Business Partners, helping them to successfully navigate the full spectrum of ER scenarios – from informal guidance to formal case management. Your expertise will help shape a consistent and pragmatic ER approach, aligned with current legislation, best practice and our team values.

Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, this is a key role for someone looking to make a tangible difference in a high-performance and fast-paced Formula One environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of the intake, triage, and resolution of ER cases, applying the appropriate level of formality and working within existing policies and procedures.
  • Managing employee relations matters, including but not limited to absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases.
  • Providing coaching and guidance to line managers and HR Business Partners on all ER-related topics, including documentation, meetings and decision-making.
  • Seeking legal advice where appropriate and clearly explaining associated risks to senior stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining a robust library of case templates and contributing to the review and development of policies in collaboration with the HR Operations Manager.
  • Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of current employment law, case law, and best practice across employee relations.
  • Supporting the wider HR function with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
  • Working proactively and professionally, in line with the company’s values and reporting structure.
  • Any other duties reasonably aligned to the purpose of your role.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • A strong understanding of best practice employee relations case management.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK employment law and statutory processes.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills with a calm and professional approach.
  • Ability to influence and guide stakeholders at all levels, with clear and confident decision-making.
  • Proven experience in an ER Specialist or generalist HR role (experience in Formula One or motorsport desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage sensitive situations with discretion and fairness.
  • A flexible and collaborative attitude, able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • High levels of motivation, enthusiasm, and a willingness to contribute beyond your core remit.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to communicate effectively and respectfully with all colleagues.
  • A clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety and ethical conduct.
