Job summary

Alfa Holidays Ltd, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner. You will partner with managers, provide commercially informed advice on people management, and lead a small HR team in a busy, employee-owned business.

You’ll handle employee relations, recruitment, policy development and engagement initiatives while supporting a 37.5-hour week at our head office with UK travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
• Experience in high-volume recruitment and selection.
• Ability to coach operational managers in people management.
• Experience developing HR policies and procedures.
• Sound commercial judgement and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with managers and employee owners.
• Advise on employee relations cases and absence, investigations, grievances.
• Support recruitment and selection, including high-volume hires.
• Coach managers to handle people matters confidently.
• Support performance management, appraisals, training and development.
• Develop policies and initiatives to improve engagement and wellbeing.
• Ensure policies align with employment law and business needs.
• Coordinate people changes with payroll and senior managers.
• Contribute to broader HR projects and people strategy.
• Manage and develop HR Assistant.
