Job summary

National Grid is recruiting a People Coordinator for a 12 month contract to deliver high-quality onboarding and employee services. You will support candidates and colleagues across onboarding, lifecycle activities and various HR processes in a hybrid role based in Bristol or Castle Donington.

You will manage onboarding workflows, perform pre-employment checks, and act as a trusted contact for managers and candidates, ensuring a smooth experience from joining to progression or leaving.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy HR or People Services environment.
• Strong organisational skills with multi-priority management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Customer-focused approach and attention to detail.
• Experience using ATS and ticketing systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding, lifecycle activity and employee services support.
• Coordinate end-to-end onboarding and pre-employment checks.
• Process right to work checks, references and verifications.
• Issue contracts and support candidates throughout onboarding.
• Act as point of contact for candidates and hiring managers.
• Manage workflows in ATS and produce reports to meet SLAs.
• Support internal moves, promotions, secondments and family leave.
