Job summary

LONDON CENTRAL YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION LIMITED is seeking an Employability Study Programme Tutor in Leeds to deliver engaging and practical learning for post-16 learners. The role covers Entry Level to Level 2, including Functional Skills English and Maths, with a focus on employability skills and progression.

The role combines classroom teaching with pastoral support, collaboration with apprenticeship teams, and external partners to support positive learner outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or above qualification in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching qualification).
• A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational subject.
• Experience of teaching English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Experience of delivering engaging learning to young people within FE or post-16 setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver employability and skills-based teaching to post-16 learners.
• Teach Entry Level to Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSE English & maths.
• Embed work readiness, behaviour, and social skills into lessons.
• Monitor learner progress and set individual learning targets.
• Organise and support assessments, coursework, and examinations.
• Provide pastoral and tutorial support to learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records using ICT and tracking systems.
• Build effective links with apprenticeship tutors and external organisations.
