Job summary

S Knights Recruitment is recruiting for an Employability Officer in West Yorkshire. The role is a full-time permanent position focused on helping participants move toward employment by overcoming barriers and developing essential skills.

You will assess individual needs, provide practical employability advice, and support progression towards sustainable work while maintaining detailed records and collaborating with the team across Leeds and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience working in employability, employment support or welfare-to-work.
• Ability to support individuals facing barriers to employment.
• Strong understanding of employability skills and progression to sustainable employment.
• Confident in providing advice, guidance, coaching or mentoring.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Able to motivate and engage diverse participants.
• Well-organised and capable of managing a varied caseload.
• Committed to helping individuals achieve positive progression outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support participants at the pre-work stage and prepare them for progression into employment.
• Identify needs and barriers through engagement and assessment.
• Provide tailored employability advice and guidance.
• Help participants build confidence, motivation and workplace-readiness.
• Support development of employability skills and understanding of work expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to set realistic progression and job goals.
• Maintain accurate records of participant activity and progress.
