Job summary

Churchward School, a special school for CYP aged 11-19 with ASC/SCID, seeks a nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team on a fixed-term maternity-cover basis. Hours 26 per week, in-person at the school.

You will support pupils with diverse needs, collaborate with staff, and contribute to a caring environment that promotes learning, emotional development and inclusion. Training will be provided, with safeguarding and Thrive approach emphasis. GCSEs including English/Maths required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with diverse needs, including ASC/SCID.
• Strong teamwork and communication with staff and families.
• Basic IT skills for classroom tasks and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in lessons and activities to promote inclusion.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing of students daily.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement the Thrive Approach where used.
