Job summary
Autism Plus seeks dedicated Support Workers to provide compassionate, person-centred assistance to adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will help residents live independently, support goals and activities, and promote health and well-being within the home setting.
The role requires empathy, resilience, and clear communication; you will work within care plans to assess needs and support daily living and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Empathy and compassion in supporting individuals with autism, learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively, adapting to each individual's needs.
- Experience in providing person-centred support to help residents live independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical support for individuals, including household tasks.
- Offer emotional support by listening to concerns and problems.
- Adapt communication to suit each individual's needs.
- Promote dignity, privacy, and person-centred care at all times.
- Assist in planning and pursuing strategies to support challenging behaviours.
- Monitor healthcare needs and administer medication where applicable.
