Job summary

Moray Council invites applications for a part-time Learning Support Assistant at West End Primary (Elgin). You will assist teaching staff, support children with additional support needs, and help in personal care and mobility tasks while maintaining a safe, hygienic environment.

The role requires PVG scheme membership or update, and a compassionate, patient approach with good confidentiality and teamwork. Closing date 20 October 2026, starting salary £27,455.48 pro rata.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children & young adults in a caring environment.
• Educated to standard level or equivalent; understands English and Arithmetic.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
• Ability to use initiative and communicate at all levels.
• Work under guidance of teaching staff and support pupils with SEN.
• Demonstrate empathy, tolerance and adapt to additional support needs.
• Willingness to undertake further training/development.
• Build rapport with children/young adults; be reliable and adaptable.
