Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking a SEND Officer to join the Experts at Hand team in Wigan. You will help children and young people re-engage with learning and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Working with schools, families and educational psychologists, you will contribute to ensuring inclusive, high-quality support and safeguarding across borough services.

The role requires commitment to flexible working and delivering equity in health, education and environment, with an enhanced Disclosure check.

This exciting role will support children and young people experiencing emotionally based school avoidance, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve successful educational outcomes.

You’ll work closely with:

• Schools
• Families
• Educational Psychologists
• Therapeutic services
• SEND professionals.

Together, you’ll help children overcome barriers and build positive, sustainable school experiences.
