Job summary

Pets at Home in Chesterfield is seeking a Deputy Store Manager Designate to oversee daily operations in a busy retail environment. You will work with multiple Store Managers, lead the team, and take full responsibility in the Store Manager’s absence, driving customer service and store performance.

The role requires at least 1 year of management experience in retail, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of management experience in a retail environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Able to work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Willing to commit to 6 months of training covering customer service, health and safety, and pet care.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and lead your team to create a fun, engaging, customer-focused environment.
• Drive sales performance and achieve key KPIs.
• Oversee store operations, including recruitment, stock management, and health & safety compliance.
• Act as Duty Manager when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Lead by example and contribute to the store’s overall success.
