Job summary

Blaise Veterinary Referrals, part of Inspiring Vet Care, are seeking an Emergency Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join our specialist-led referral hospital. Work a 4 on, 4 off rota with days, nights and twilight shifts, and deliver high-quality patient and client care in a collaborative team.

You will develop clinical skills across disciplines, support out-of-hours services, and contribute to a positive clinical culture. A veterinary degree and RCVS registration/eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• A veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS (or eligibility).
• Experience working in out-of-hours emergencies is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive learning mindset with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Consult and care for inpatients alongside the ECC vet, delivering out-of-hours services to local clinics.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to maintain a high standard of patient and client care.
• Commit to a minimum of 4 bank holidays per year and 2 weekends per month on a rota averaging ~22 hours per week.
