Job summary

Blaise Veterinary Referrals, part of Inspiring Vet Care, are seeking an Emergency Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join our specialist-led referral hospital. Work a 4 on, 4 off rota with days, nights and twilight shifts, and deliver high-quality patient and client care in a collaborative team.

You will develop clinical skills across disciplines, support out-of-hours services, and contribute to a positive clinical culture. A veterinary degree and RCVS registration/eligibility are required.

• A veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS (or eligibility).
• Experience working in out-of-hours emergencies is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive learning mindset with openness to feedback and development.
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Consult and care for inpatients alongside the ECC vet, delivering out-of-hours services to local clinics.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to maintain a high standard of patient and client care.
• Commit to a minimum of 4 bank holidays per year and 2 weekends per month on a rota averaging ~22 hours per week.

At Blaise Veterinary Referrals, we great opportunity for a vet surgeon with a passion for ECC to join our fantastic OOH team on a 4 on, 4 off rota. Exact times will vary between days, nights and twilight shifts.

Blaise Veterinary Referrals isa large-scale, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led referral hospital which encompasses the culture and values we pride ourselves on at Inspiring Vet Care. Our welcoming, knowledgeable team will be here to support you every step of the way. We have an outstanding team of recognised specialists across a multitude of disciplines including Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Soft Tissue and Anaesthesia.

The hospital is one of the largest in the UK at over 36,000 sq ft, with the capacity to treat up to 10,000 pets per year. From the site we provide specialist-led multi-discipline veterinary referrals and an emergency service. The site has easy access from the A38 through Longbridge and is part of the West Longbridge regeneration project.

How You'll Make a Difference

As an Emergency Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon, you'll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You'll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You'll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

• Priory Emergency Treatment Services (P.E.T.S.) is our dedicated emergency service. Emergency care is delivered by our team of dedicated out-of-hours emergency care vets and nurses operating from our state-of-the-art flagship Brighton hospital.
• You will consult and care for inpatients alongside our ECC vet, providing out of hours services to local clinics.
• You will commit to a minimum of 4 bank holidays per year & 2 weekends per month on a rota averaging at 22hrs per week.
