Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hiring an Emergency Practitioner in the Emergency Department in Gloucester. The role is part-time (34.5 hours per week) and involves shift work across sites, with maternity cover for 12 months.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional from a nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy background.
• Experience and skills in minor injuries and/or illness.
• Professional registration with the NMC or HCPC.

Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, treat and refer or discharge patients with minor injuries/illness.
• Use electronic patient records (Sunrise) and interpret investigations (X-rays, pathology).
• Perform procedures including reductions and wound care; manage medications incl. prescribing where applicable.
