Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Senior Emergency Practitioner to join our ED/urgent care team across Gloucester and Cheltenham, including night shifts. You will be an autonomous practitioner with responsibilities in minor injuries and illnesses, using Sunrise EMR and interpreting X-rays and pathology results.

The post requires active NMC/HCPC registration (or Paramedic/Physiotherapist pathway), an appropriate degree, and non-medical prescribing.

Qualifications

• Active NMC/HCPC registration required.
• UK degree in minor injury/illness pathway or advancing practice.
• Non-medical prescribing registration.
• Immediate Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Work as autonomous practitioner in urgent care across Gloucester and Cheltenham EDs, including night shifts.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise and independent decision making for unscheduled care.
• Accountable for the full episode of care from assessment to discharge.
• Lead clinical care for minor injuries/illness and mentor junior staff overnight.
