Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an Emergency Planning Officer to join the Emergency Planning Team. This full-time role (37 hours per week) includes an on-call rota for 24/7 cover after training, with some unsocial hours as required.

You will assess hazards, develop plans under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, and work with communities and responders to enhance resilience for residents. The post offers hybrid and flexible working arrangements and opportunities to develop skills within

Qualifications

• Experience in civil protection and emergency management arrangements in the UK.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota to provide out of hours cover.
• Comfortable using maps to communicate geographic information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in making North Northamptonshire ready for emergencies by assessing hazards and threats and developing plans and procedures.
• Work with the council, communities and other responders to support resilience and respond to incidents.
• Keep plans, procedures and records up to date and ready for use during emergencies.
