Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is advertising a Trust Registrar role for doctors who want to develop a special interest while maintaining clinical practice. The post is fixed term to April 2027 to cover maternity leave, with dedicated time for your special interest and for education and career development.

There is scope to pursue areas such as Pre-hospital and Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Medical Education and IT/Information Governance, with supervision and opportunities to build a tailored

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
• Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
• MB BS (or equivalent)
• Full MRCEM examination ATLS/ALS/APLS in date qualification.
• IAC in anaesthetics or equivalent evidence of airway skills.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• 4 years+ experience in Emergency Medicine/related specialties.
• Proven NHS hospital medicine experience in EM; short term locums not acceptable.
• First UK post allowed only after 36 months in EM.
• EM trainees from overseas training programs considered for shortlisting.
• Evidence of procedures: venous cannulation, phlebotomy, fracture manipulation.
• Evidence of ongoing EM-related education/training.

Responsibilities

• Provision of care with management of ED patients.
• Referral to other specialties as appropriate.
• Dedicated special interest day per week.
• Involvement in multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
• Administration duties.
• Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and clinicians.
• Active involvement in audit and clinical governance.
