Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is inviting applications for an OOPE in Emergency Medicine in Leicester. This one-year post offers a 50% clinical and 50% non-clinical split to develop a special interest with support from 27 Consultants in a modern Emergency Department.

Applicants should have completed CT3 by August 2027 and be motivated to pursue education, pre-hospital medicine, geriatrics or quality improvement projects aligned with the department’s goals.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and GMC registration required.
• CT3 completion by August 2026.
• Experience at ST4 level or above in Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Keep patients (and/or their carers) informed about their condition.
• Involve patients (and/or their carers) in decision making about their treatment.
• Maintain professional standards and GMC requirements per Good Medical Practice guidance.
• Carry out work related to the duties in the Job Plan, including records and reports.
