Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust invites applications for an OOPE in Emergency Medicine, a one-year post with 50% clinical and 50% non-clinical time focused on a personal project. The appointee will work within a team of 27 consultants in a state-of-the-art department and can pursue education, pre-hospital medicine, geriatrics or quality improvement initiatives.

The clinical element is at registrar level and requires CT3 completion by August 2027.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and collaborative working.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and GMC registration.
• CT3 completion by August 2026 (or 2027 per posting).
• Experience at ST4 level or above in Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical duties as registrar level.
• Balance 50% clinical and 50% non-clinical time on your project.
• Develop educational, digital, quality improvement or leadership projects.
• Engage in graduate and continuing medical education activities.
• Contribute to audit and teaching activities.
