Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust invites applications for a one-year Medical Education Fellow in the Emergency Department. The post is 50% medical education and 50% clinical work, at registrar level with CT3 completion required by August 2027.

The role focuses on developing simulation, shop-floor teaching, CBD clinics, FOAMed, and regional/local education programmes. The Education Team includes an administrator and a multimedia technologist; the post offers opportunity for QIPs and

Qualifications

Basic Medical Degree and GMC registration are required.
CT3 completion by August 2025 is expected.
FRCEM intermediate or equivalent is required.
Experience at ST4 level or above in Emergency Medicine is preferred.
Commitment to medical education and teaching activities is essential.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver educational programmes within the Emergency Department (Adult/Paediatric).
Oversee education for all grades of medical practitioners in the department.
Develop and enhance the Departmental Simulation programme.
Maintain FOAMed content and contribute to RCEM Learning.
Facilitate ward-based and CBD teaching sessions.
Work within the ED Educational Team under Medical Director guidance.
Align with UHL Educational strategy on quality and governance.
