Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Medical Education Fellow in the Emergency Department. This is a fixed one-year post in Leicester with a 50% focus on Medical Education and 50% clinical work at Registrar level.

Candidates should have completed Emergency Medicine CT3 by August 2027, GMC full registration, and a commitment to education including simulation, CBD clinics and FOAMed activities.

Qualifications

• Basic Medical Degree with GMC registration.
• Emergency Medicine CT3 completed by August 2027.
• FRCEM intermediate or equivalent.
• Previous ST4 level or above in Emergency Medicine.
• Commitment to medical education and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programmes within the Emergency Department.
• Aid the Post Graduate Education lead in overseeing education for all grades of medical practitioners in the department.
• Develop and enhance the Departmental Simulation programme.
• Maintain and develop the departmental FOAMed content for EM3learn.com and contribute to RCEM Learning where able.
• Support the facilitation of WBPAs (dedicated shop floor teaching sessions and CBD clinics).
• Work within the Emergency Department Educational Team under the Medical Director and Associate Medical Director for Medical Education.
• Link with the UHL Educational strategy focusing on quality and governance.
