Job summary

SGN invites applicants for an Apprentice Emergency Gas Responder position in Glasgow. This 3-year apprenticeship provides hands-on experience delivering gas service to homes and businesses, with college blocks and on-site learning.

You will train under skilled engineers, attend college in blocks, and progress toward Gas Safe registration in several categories while contributing to a net-zero energy agenda.

Qualifications

• 3 National 5 grades A-C or GCSEs A*-C including Maths and English
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the gas network industry
• Commitment to up to 3 years of training and education

Responsibilities

• Respond to reported gas emergencies
• Assist with installation and replacement of gas meters
• Assist installing, testing and commissioning internal gas pipework
• Promote health and safety in gas service/repair activities
