Job summary

SGN is recruiting for an Apprentice Emergency Gas Responder across Scotland, including Edinburgh. This 3-year programme leads to Gas Safe registration and combines college blocks with field training as you support engineers in delivering gas services.

You will learn to install meters, respond to emergencies, and help maintain networks while developing safety skills and practical competence across a wide area including the UK’s south and Scotland.

Qualifications

• At least 3 National 5 grades A–C including Maths and English.
• Commit to 3 years of training and education.
• Driving preferred; plan to pass test within 6–12 months if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

• Install gas meters and regulators.
• Respond to reported gas emergencies.
• Install and maintain gas networks.
• Promote health and safety in gas service/repair activities.
