Job summary

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Dispatch Support Assistant in Bicester. The role supports emergency dispatchers, prioritises workloads, and coordinates ambulance resources to emergency and urgent events from the Emergency Operations Centre.

You will work in a fast-paced environment handling medical emergencies and major incidents, using radio, text, and dispatch systems to ensure timely, accurate responses.

Qualifications

• Competent with IT systems and able to log information accurately.
• Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service experience from a telephone or face-to-face role.
• Good knowledge of the local geographical area.
• Attention to detail when recording information.
• Able to listen carefully and record information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist emergency dispatchers by following their instructions and assisting with their duties
• Assist the emergency dispatchers to ensure the systems are maintained and alterations to vehicle movements can be made if advised by the emergency dispatcher
• Operate the radio and computer assisted systems on behalf of the emergency dispatcher to ensure the correct and accurate information is logged
