Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Emergency Department Assistant (Band 2) in Bath. The role provides vital portering, technical and general support to ensure the 24-hour ED runs safely and efficiently. 37.5 hours per week with shifts including nights; permanent, full-time/part-time options

The post is in a busy ED serving around 75,000 patients annually. You will work closely with the team to transfer patients, support staff, and maintain patient dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with or without direct supervision.
• Experience of working with the public.
• Understands the need for confidentiality.
• Willingness to undertake training courses relevant to the role.

Responsabilités

• Respond promptly and courteously to requests from department staff.
• Escort patients and visitors to and from the Emergency Department.
• Move patients by wheelchair, bed or trolley.
• Carry out regular checks on equipment and assist with transfers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team and patients.
