Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on the night shift. The RN assesses, coordinates, plans, directs and manages patient care across the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge.

You will implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and document care in keeping with policies. This Level I Trauma Center provides 24/7 care with a broad mix of urgent and emergent cases.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
• Must obtain/maintain BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, plan and direct patient care across the episode of care.
• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions and plan care.
• Collaborate with nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Provide primary and emergency care during transitions and maintain standards of care.
