Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the administration team in the Emergency Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The successful applicant is expected to be flexible, have a pleasant personality, and a positive approach. Applicants must have a good education, be adaptable, and possess good organizational skills. The role involves providing administrative support to the clinical team in the Emergency Department.

Night shifts are from 22:00-08:30 or 09:00 on a 3 on 6 off basis.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential.

Main duties of the job

Providing a comprehensive reception service, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective service delivery and patient satisfaction. The post involves exercising judgment to resolve patient queries within professional constraints, maintaining confidentiality, and dealing courteously with staff, patients, carers, and relatives.

Qualifications

  • English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 in Customer Care or equivalent experience
  • Welsh speaking - minimum level 3

Experience

  • Previous clerical/office/reception experience
  • Customer service experience

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, TEAMS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

Desirable criteria include NHS experience, use of hospital systems like Symphony/WPAS, and experience handling confidential information.
