Job summary

Lead in the clinical education and the co-ordinating of the development and delivery of resuscitation & clinical education and training on a daily basis within the emergency department, ensuring that it is responsive to the needs of the trust.

Act as a source of specialist advice in relation to resuscitation and clinical education with emergency care of the critically injured/ill and or deteriorating patient matters

Deliver direct patient care, as an individual and by supporting and teaching staff by acting as an expert practitioner and a role model to the whole team and department.

Ensure cardiac arrests and emergency care treatments are run to both Resuscitation Council (UK) and national/local emergency care guidelines and they are conducted safely.

Assist with the post resuscitative care of the critically injured/ill care of the patient where necessary.

Offer support and debriefing during and post, both cardiac arrest and other traumatic events to all multidisciplinary staff, relatives and patients as necessary.

To provide clinical skills training to staff as required, and to aid development of all multi-disciplinary grades within the department.

For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.

This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.
