Job summary

Worcestershire Royal Hospital, part of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, invites applications for Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department. You will lead nursing care, mentor junior staff and work with the band 7 team to ensure high standards of patient care.

The role requires NMC registration (Adult), mentorship and teaching qualifications, and a commitment to ongoing professional development within an ED environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor staff
• Strong understanding of clinical governance principles and risk management
• Ability to prioritise workload in a busy ED setting

Responsibilities

• Help lead and manage the Emergency Department to deliver high quality, evidence-based nursing care
• Provide nursing care within your scope of practice
• Take charge of specific areas or the department as a whole
• Work with the band 7 team to run the department smoothly
• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to junior staff
• Act as a visible leader and role model for staff
• Promote the Trust's values and service standards
• Support achievement of emergency access standards
