Torbay Hospital in Torquay is seeking a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Emergency Department. The role requires extensive Emergency Medicine experience and provides clinical leadership to the nursing team, coordinating shifts under supervision and working flexibly across the department to ensure timely patient flow.

Formación

• Diploma in Health Studies. Degree or on Degree pathway.
• ALS and / or ILS. Paediatric Life Support Certificate or equivalent. Trauma course or equivalent evidenced experience.
• Relevant management courses, for example – retention and recruitment, Appraisals, Dementia awareness training.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the flow within the Emergency Department with leadership to the nursing team.
• Maintain effective communication at department level.
• Support junior colleagues during shifts and act as team leader.
• Liaise with the MDT and outside agencies to ensure patient flow and safety.
• Make shift-by-shift decisions on clinical and personnel issues.
• Develop the service and team to deliver high quality care and implement changes.

Educación

Diploma in Health Studies. Degree or on Degree pathway

ALS and / or ILS. Paediatric Life Support Certificate or equivalent
