Job summary

HCRG Care Group is hiring an Emergency Clinical Practitioner for the Chippenham Hospital Minor Injury Unit. The role involves autonomous assessment, prescription, and discharge decisions within the ECP scope, with leadership of MIU staffing in the absence of a clinical lead.

You will join a practitioner-led team serving primary and secondary care interfaces across BSW, bringing APiCA and Non-Medical prescribing expertise, plus acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Essential degree qualification
• Current professional registration in nursing/paramedic or equivalent
• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
• APiCA and Non-medical prescribing qualifications
• Independent Non-Medical prescribing
• Knowledge of multi-disciplinary team working
• Acute and/or community experience
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice
• Experience of working with other agencies
• Current practical clinical skills
• Ability to assess, prioritise and coordinate care for complex needs
• Ability to make decisions, delegate and work autonomously
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Willingness to participate in staff training and development

Responsibilities

• Autonomous assessment, examination, and documentation of care for MIU patients
• Prescribe and discharge where appropriate within scope
• Manage staffing of the MIU in absence of clinical lead
• Coordinate specialist interventions across primary and secondary care
• Work within a practitioner-led team across BSW interfaces
