Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Sister/Charge Nurse in Emergency Care. You will lead the nursing team, deliver direct clinical care, and work across the Emergency Department and Medical Division to ensure safe patient flow and high standards of care.

We expect active NMC/HCPC registration, a nursing degree/diploma, and essential lifesaving qualifications (ILS, triage).

Qualifications

• Active registration with the NMC or HCPC in the UK.
• Recognised Degree/ Diploma in Nursing.
• Immediate Life Support.
• Triage Training.
• Experience in an acute clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and role model in nursing within ED and Medical Division.
• Provide direct clinical care while overseeing the nursing team.
• Lead bed management and coordinate admissions/transfers.
• Ensure compliance with NMC/HCPC standards and professional codes.
• Support quality, safety, and workforce targets; contribute to governance.
