Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking an EMEA Process Safety Engineer to lead process safety activities across the region. You will ensure legal compliance, maintain required safety documents, and drive performance improvements with site teams.

The role requires extensive experience in hazard studies, risk assessments, and regulatory knowledge, with up to 25% travel across EMEA. You will report to the Global Process Safety Manager and collaborate with regional managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, PSM, or related Science.
• 10+ years of experience in a PSM-covered facility.
• 5 years' experience managing and implementing PSM programs at a complex facility.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA regulations and standards.
• Experience facilitating hazard studies (HAZOP, LOPA, PHA).

Responsibilities

• Support site EHS, Process Safety, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and PPG requirements.
• Coordinate activities related to process safety analyses (PHA/HAZOP/LOPA) across the region.
• Identify and assist implementing risk reduction projects to prevent major incidents.
• Identify process safety training needs and organize training with internal or external partners.
• Coordinate process safety integration for new sites.
• Review audit, inspection and incident reports and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure coordination of Process Safety projects at EMEA level via meetings.
• Monitor PSM KPIs and ensure actions to close gaps.
• Support implementation and maintenance of MOC and PHA programs.
• Identify regulatory changes and communicate to affected parties.
• Network with region process safety managers to share best practices.
