Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited is seeking a Construction Cost Engineer to drive cost control for data center projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will collaborate with design, construction, procurement, finance and legal teams to manage costs and deliver efficient facilities.

You will validate estimates, engage with third party QS, define cost metrics, and identify value engineering opportunities to maximize savings on multimillion-dollar programs while upholding Amazon

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in construction cost control.
• Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals.
• Experience with Data Center or other mission critical construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Engage and manage third party Quantity Surveyors.
• Validate construction cost estimates at various design stages.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams, internal and external.
• Communicate cost control goals to stakeholders.
• Identify Value Engineering opportunities and quantify savings.
• Define and track cost performance metrics and lead monthly cost reporting.
• Analyze and provide feedback on vendor proposals using benchmark data.
• Validate final award amount and contract scope.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
