Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited is seeking an Environmental Engineer to provide on-site environmental oversight for data center construction projects across the EMEA region. You will work with the Global Construction Program Lead to implement requirements, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance from design through Facilities Handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including waste, water, and air regulations.
• Experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, regulatory assessments, EIAs and water discharge requirements.
• Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site assessment and oversight of construction environmental risks for AWS data center projects in the EMEA region.
• Complete Construction Environmental Risk Forms during pre-design to identify high‑risk aspects.
• Monitor contractor performance with permit conditions, CEMPs, and environmental regulations.
• Review and approve CEMPs submitted by contractors.
• Collaborate with AWS Environmental Legal, InfraOps, and Design Engineering.
• Develop regulatory reports and track environmental metrics and program performance.
