Thales is seeking an Embedded Software Research Engineer in Reading, to join TRT. You will work across cutting-edge projects, combining embedded software with research, rapid prototyping and technology exploration.

You will develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and prototypes, test Embedded C on platforms, and explore innovative concepts for future defence and security solutions. This role offers a hybrid working pattern and strong career development.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Embedded C software for embedded platforms.
• Understanding of ARM-based processors and RTOS.
• Knowledge of MISRA, CERT C, Agile, Git and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to analyse complex problems and propose practical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop proof-of-concept demonstrators and pre-production prototypes.
• Develop, integrate and test Embedded C on embedded platforms.
• Conduct feasibility studies via analysis and rapid prototyping.
• Research and evaluate innovative concepts for Thales products.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and own activities.
