KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join the engineering team near Wakefield. You will design, develop and maintain embedded software at the heart of their products, with involvement in software requirements and system architecture.

You will work on ARM-based platforms, leverage RTOS like Zephyr or FreeRTOS, and implement wireless protocols for seamless device connectivity. Hybrid working and real opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded software development
• Experience with RTOS (Zephyr or FreeRTOS)
• Understanding of ARM-based microprocessors/hardware
• Familiarity with embedded development tools, IDEs and Git
• Knowledge of secure software development and encryption
• Strong problem-solving skills and independence

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing embedded software for ARM-based platforms
• Implementing wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee) for device connectivity
• Defining software requirements, system architecture and design specs
• Writing, debugging and maintaining C code following best practices and MISRA guidance
• Developing Linux applications to create test simulations
• Building secure development practices including encryption and secure communications
• Keeping documentation up to date for software design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting
• Staying updated with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation
