Job summary

Rogue Cortex in Guildford, England seeks a Test Engineer, Embedded Robotics to own the testing infrastructure and verification pipeline for mobile robotics systems. You will design and implement tests at unit, integration, and system levels and build CI/CD rigs across SITL and HITL environments.

You are the last line of defense before software reaches physical robots, and you will build tooling and processes to make that gate trustworthy and fast.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with C++11+ for embedded codebases.
• Hands-on experience with Google Test / Catch2.
• Proven Jenkins pipeline experience with multi-branch builds.
• Experience standing up SITL environments (Gazebo/AirSim/jMAVSim).
• Experience with HITL test rigs and automated orchestration.
• Knowledge of networking/serial protocols for hardware CI.
• Ubuntu 18+ proficiency and command-line fluency.
• Familiarity with Docker and IaC tools (Ansible/Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain test suites (unit, integration, system).
• Architect SITL environments validating software against simulated dynamics.
• Architect and operate HITL rigs with real embedded hardware.
• Build and maintain the Jenkins CI/CD pipeline end-to-end.
• Design and manage multi-site test fixture infrastructure.
• Define and enforce test coverage, criteria, and release gates.
• Triage failures and drive root-cause resolution with engineers.
• Continuously improve test speed, reliability, and diagnostics.
