Job summary

Humanoid in the United Kingdom seeks a Firmware Engineer to join our team developing and maintaining embedded software behind our end effectors and human-worn interfaces. You will bridge hardware and software, bring up new PCB revisions, write firmware and drivers, and integrate sensors across varying compute platforms.

You’ll work with hardware, electrical and mechanical engineers in a fast-paced environment where reliability matters and priorities shift quickly.

Qualifications

• Embbeded firmware development experience
• Sensor and peripheral integration
• Debugging hardware with oscilloscope and logic analyzer
• Experience with multiple compute platforms (ESP32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson)
• Strong knowledge of embedded interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet)
• Hardware bring-up and fault-detection skills
• Component selection collaboration with hardware team
• OTA pipeline maintenance and image provisioning

Responsibilities

• Develop Embedded Firmware for microcontrollers covering sensor sampling and power management
• Integrate sensors, encoders, LCDs, IMUs, ToF sensors, LiDARs, cameras with drivers
• Bridge device firmware with ESP32, Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson platforms
• Design interfaces between hardware subsystems (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, CAN, EtherCAT, MIPI)
• Bring up new hardware, debug with oscilloscope/logic analyzer, fix integration issues
• Create calibration routines, power sequencing, and fault detection for sensors
• Assist with component selection for sensors and MCUs with engineering teams
• Maintain OTA update pipelines and image provisioning for fleets of devices
