Job summary

Humanoid builds advanced humanoid robots and is seeking a Firmware Engineer to own embedded software for end effectors and human interfaces. You’ll bridge hardware and software across diverse compute platforms, delivering reliable firmware for sensors and actuators.

Join a fast-paced team collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to bring up new boards, write drivers, and ensure robust OTA provisioning and calibration workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded firmware development (C/C++).
• Experience with ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi or NVIDIA Jetson.
• Experience integrating drivers for sensors and peripherals.
• Solid knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, CAN, EtherCAT.
• Able to bring up hardware and debug with oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
• Nice to have: FPGA, camera sync, Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for robot end effectors and sensors.
• Integrate sensors/encoders, LCDs, IMUs, ToF, LiDARs, cameras.
• Interface firmware with ESP32, Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson compute platforms.
• Design interfaces between subsystems (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, CAN, EtherCAT, MIPI).
• Bring up new hardware, debug with oscilloscope/logic analyzer and resolve issues.
• Develop calibration routines and fault detection for sensors and mechatronic systems.
• Assist with component selection for sensors and MCUs.
• Maintain OTA update pipelines for fleets of devices.
