Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd. seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to write embedded C for metering devices. You will work on high-volume firmware for devices shipping over a million units, with a clear path to leading the firmware function as part of a succession plan.

Based in the UK, you will design, develop and test firmware primarily in embedded C using Microchip tools. Expect involvement in new product development, redesigns and cyber security considerations for metering products.

Qualifications

• Experience developing firmware in embedded C.
• Solid maths background.
• Experience taking products through new development and redesign.
• Ability to write test code and build testing into the development process.
• Experience with the Microchip toolchain and emulation environments.
• Awareness of metering specifications or device language standards.
• Understanding embedded cyber security requirements.
• Some scripting experience.
• Degree in electronics, software or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and testing embedded firmware in embedded C for metering products
• Carrying out new product development, redesign work and modular improvements across the range
• Developing firmware to relevant metering specifications and device language standards
• Building cyber security into firmware in line with new directives and requirements
• Writing your own test code and building testing into the development process
• Working within the Microchip toolchain and emulation environment
• Debugging and validating firmware against hardware
• Producing clear technical documentation
• Contributing to design reviews and continuous improvement
