Job summary

TLD Powervamp is seeking an experienced Electrical/Power Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical and electronic systems for our GSE product range in Bedford. You will work across the full development cycle, collaborating with hardware designers and a multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality integration of hardware with control systems.

You will design electrical schematics and harnesses, validate through testing, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing heavy equipment, industrial systems, or aviation ground support.
• Hands-on approach supporting prototype builds and transferring data to CAD.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, low voltage systems, PLCs, and motor controls.
• Experience with CAN (Controller Area Network) communication protocol and systems.
• Methodical, detail-oriented problem solving with clear documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across cross-functional reviews with hardware and mechanical engineers.
• Field and product focus with awareness of real-world aviation service conditions and reliability implications.
• Adaptable between new product development and legacy maintenance tasks while delivering commitments.
• Proactive, outcome-driven mindset with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component layouts for GSE.
• Integrate electrical components into mechanical systems and design robust harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Develop test procedures, execute tests, analyze data, and troubleshoot faults for reliability.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and safety regulations.
• Produce technical reports, BOMs, operating manuals, and maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and supplier teams to deliver projects.
• Create electronic circuit schematics and optimize board layouts for performance and manufacturability.
• Connect sensors, motors, and drives to PLCs and design HMIs for operators.
