Job summary

Safran Engineering Services in the United Kingdom seeks a Systems Engineer to lead development of electrical power generation, distribution and propulsion systems for aviation projects. Based at the Centre of Excellence in Pitstone, you will ensure Systems Design throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with a skilled team.

Key activities include defining system requirements with customers, architecture design, requirement management, test rig design and documentation for certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Aeronautical, Systems or Control Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong interest in systems design and integration for electrical power generation and distribution.
• Experience with safety-critical aerospace systems and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements with the customer in a team context.
• Design system architectures, perform performance analyses and manage integration aspects.
• Manage requirements and conduct verification/validation activities.
• Make system-related technical decisions and interface with the customer.
• Contribute to system test rig design, commissioning and testing.
• Support site and customer facility testing and documentation for certification.
• Prepare system documentation for Safety of Flight / Certification and DoD Declarations of Design and Performance.
• Help generate project plans and ensure budgets are met.
• Assist in promoting the company's capabilities to win new business.
