Job summary

Mondrian Alpha in London seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the Investment Team. You will design, build and deploy AI-powered applications that support every stage of the investment lifecycle—from due diligence to portfolio monitoring.

This hands-on role delivers production-grade tools working with investment professionals, a central AI engineering function, and fast-paced decision-making environments. You will own delivery from scoping to deployment, ensuring robustness and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with production-quality software experience.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines and agentic workflows.
• Experience collaborating with financial, commercial or investment professionals in embedded/consulting roles.
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of financial services, private equity, investment banking or fintech is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with investment professionals to understand workflows and translate them into production-ready AI applications.
• Build and maintain AI-powered diligence tools, financial model review solutions, investment committee memo generators and portfolio monitoring dashboards.
• Develop production-grade Python applications using modern LLM technologies, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows and evaluation frameworks.
• Own delivery from initial scoping through deployment, iteration and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with a central AI engineering function to improve shared tooling, governance and reusable components.
• Ensure solutions are robust, well-tested and trusted in high-stakes investment decision-making environments.
