Barings in London is scaling the safe, governed adoption of AI across the firm. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer will embed directly with Investment, Client & Support teams to understand workflows and build AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable value.

This hands-on, delivery-focused role scopes and prototypes rapidly, validates with the business, and ships production-grade automation, workflow orchestration, and client-facing tooling using AI-native platforms.

Qualifications

• Software engineering experience with daily use of AI-native development tools.
• Hands-on LLM integration experience.
• Working knowledge of MCP, REST APIs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business problem first, then leverage AI tools to accelerate design.
• Partner with stakeholders to design, prototype, and deliver AI-powered solutions.
• Run tasks end-to-end from scoping to deployment using AI-native tooling.
• Write production code that deploys through pipelines and meets standards.
• Build integrations and automations on Barings AI platform with data connectors.
• Prototype quickly, validate with business, iterate and ship.
