Embedded AI Deployment Engineer

Job summary

Delos Data in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to be embedded with a strategic customer, solving deployment and operational challenges in production AI infrastructure, and turning field learnings into product improvements.

You will work hands-on in the data center’s GPU/XPU clusters, with schedulers and high‑speed fabrics, lead troubleshooting, and collaborate with our engineering team on new features and RFPs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hands-on infra engineering with customer exposure.
• AI data center deployment and operation of GPU/XPU clusters.
• Production-grade Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Slurm, Tinkerbell, MaaS or similar.
• Deep Linux, containers, and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineering to ship features based on field needs.
• Clear communication and ability to brief infrastructure leaders.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as dedicated technical owner for a strategic customer's production deployment.
• Work hands-on in the customer's AI data center environment with GPU/XPU clusters.
• Lead integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Guide software upgrades, cluster expansion, and feature rollouts.
• Build runbooks, integration guides, and automation.
• Develop reference architectures and technical collateral.
• Represent the company at customer workshops and industry events.
• Contribute to RFPs, RFIs, and proof-of-concept deployments.
• Translate customer problems into technical requirements for engineering.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform engineering teams.
