Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a designer to build a scalable email design system, translating components into email formats and creating new patterns to support our communications ambitions.

You will craft responsive email templates for CRM, lifecycle, promotional, service and transactional emails, ensuring brand alignment, clear documentation, and WCAG AA accessibility across campaigns.

Qualifications

• Design and evolve digital design systems.
• Create responsive email templates and email frameworks.
• Develop reusable components, patterns and design libraries.
• Understand email design best practices and client constraints.
• Demonstrate typography, layout and information hierarchy skills.
• Know HTML email development considerations.
• Work with CRM/marketing automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build a scalable email design system underpinning all communications.
• Create responsive email templates for CRM, lifecycle, promotional, service and transactional emails.
• Ensure all design work aligns with Hastings Direct’s brand and standards.
• Create guidance and documentation to maintain consistency of email components.
• Document the design system in line with internal Customer Experience Hub practices.
