Job summary

Hastings Direct is hiring a designer to build and evolve a scalable email design system, translating patterns into reusable components for CRM, promotions and service emails. You will ensure accessibility, typography and visual language align with brand.

Collaboration with marketing and product teams is essential to maintain consistency across all email communications. The role focuses on creating guidance, documenting components, and advancing the internal design system in line with Hastings

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and evolving digital design systems.
• Proven experience designing responsive email templates and email communication frameworks.
• Experience creating reusable components, patterns, and design libraries.
• Strong understanding of email design best practices and email client constraints.
• Excellent visual design skills with strong typography, layout, and information hierarchy.
• Experience using Figma and modern design system workflows.
• Deep understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG AA requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of HTML email development considerations.
• Experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build a scalable email design system underpinning Hastings Direct's email communications.
• Create responsive email templates for CRM, lifecycle, promotions, service and transactional emails.
• Ensure design work aligns with Hastings Direct’s brand, principles and visual language.
• Create guidance and documentation for consistent use of email components and templates.
• Document the design system in line with the Customer Experience Hub.
